ParticipantHello, I’m trying to understand the vague instructions to paste the Variation codes into the Block Editor but am not seeing where exactly to paste this, can someone please give a screenshot of where to paste?
These are the instructions found: “Then, simply paste the block into the block editor. Keep in mind, you do NOT need to paste the block within the code editor. Just paste it into the default block editor, and the block variation should then appear on your site exactly as it does within the demo. Then, you can modify the block to fit your needs.”
Where EXACTLY am I pasting in the default block editor? I tried various ways and nothing works, even an hmtl widget added to the page doesn’t. I’m not seeing anywhere to paste directly.
This is the variation code I want to paste: <!– wp:obb/post-block {“editMode”:false,”postcategory”:[“Featured”],”posttype”:”post”,”posttaxonomy”:”category”,”poststyle”:”angular”,”postheading”:”h3″,”postheadingsize”:”32px”,”postauthor”:false,”postexcerpt”:false,”masonrylayout”:false,”maxposts”:”3″,”posttitlecolor”:”#fff”,”posttextcolor”:”#fff”,”postlinkcolor”:”#fff”,”btntextcolor”:”#f00″,”postbggradient”:”linear-gradient(135deg, rgb(244, 182, 0), rgb(200, 0, 0) 100%)”,”buttoncolor”:”#fff”,”align”:”wide”} /–>

KeymasterHi Diana,
Thanks for reaching out! I’ll be happy to help:
First, you should just paste that code into an empty paragraph line in your content.
Next, if the block is not appearing, it’s most likely because you need to update the options for the block. That particular block is a query block, meaning it pulls existing posts from a specified category into your content. So, you will need to select an existing category of posts in the block options. Even though the block may not be visible in the editor, it should visible in the list view. See attached screenshot. Select the block in the list view, then select the “pencil” icon for the block in the editor. There, you should be able to select your post category.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks so much David, I was able to get that to work finally! Are we able to adjust the post template under the Index (Blog) page to match this same formatting? How/where would we override the current specifications without breaking any existing code?
This is the page in question
https://otpa.dreamhosters.com/blog/and i’m trying to get it to match the draft (but still keep the index page search bar etc)
